Hunter Valley Scenic Wine Tasting Tour

Vinyards, Village Pubs and a lot of Wine Tasting – A small group country experience to be remembered

Credited with being one of the finest wine regions, the Hunter Valley claims to be one of Australia’s oldest wine producing areas.

Today, we’ll travel via the region of the Hawkesbury River – one of the most picturesque rivers in Australia.

Enjoy a morning break with a coffee among the kangaroos and emu roaming free in the Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park

Then we’ll visit up to 3 wineries. Not the large, impersonal factories that cater to big groups, but small, 5-star single vineyards.

While exploring the Hunter, we’ll make sure to visit wineries in the different subregions – each with subtle differences in terroir, altitude and sights.

We’ll choose from a wide range of quality wines and sample some of Australia’s best – Verdello, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and of course the best Shiraz and Semillon.

Returning back to Sydney by 5 PM.

“In all honesty – I don’t know much about wine. Fortunately the winemakers we meet on our tour to the Hunter Valley do. And they love to share their knowledge and passion about wine making, state-of-the-art production methods, family history, grape varieties and so on. Because tasting wine is always a little about tasting soil, culture and tradition. Couleur locale, as the French say. I love the couleur locale from the Hunter Valley – especially when served against a back-drop of eucalyptus trees, lush mountain slopes and filled up billabongs.”
